Within a year of the election, will Trump publicly disparage Elon Musk?
This could be for any reason, provoked or otherwise. Things like belittling nicknames and personal insults would count, or "I never liked him anyway" type statements.
As this might be somewhat subjective, I won't trade.
@VandelayIndustries Maybe same story as:
Trump versus Bannon
Boris Johnson versus Dominic Cummings
The goal oriented folks get kicked out.
this market reminds me of when i stalked my college ex for one year straight hoping to see her miserable and dumped and instead she just got hotter and happier and ended up marrying the new guy. buckle up libs :(
This must irritate Trump and his base I would think? (Conditional on this not being fake, you never know.) Added 50M to my YES bet.
@uair01 I'm not trying to spam here. I just want to make a note for myself, for later, to see if my premonitions were correct:
TIM DILLON: “I don’t think anyone is going to get one over on Trump. Trump has instinct that you can only have when you’re a casino magnate born in Queens. If the tech community believes they can get one over on Trump, I don’t think Trump will allow that to happen, he doesn’t let himself be used in that manner.” “I think this is becoming the first big rift. People are starting to question whether the love of Trump and his policies is genuine in tech or are they trying to launder their ideas through the MAGA movement?”
@uair01 I don't think Trump has a problem with that.
"You graduate from a college, I think you should get automatically as part of your diploma a green card to be able to stay in this country," Trump said, "and that includes junior colleges too."
@uair01 71% of Trump supporters are in favor of admitting more high skilled immigrants
lol he just posted this:
Seems as if this was meant to be a private message to Elon?
@elf I guess one of the advantages to not being extravagantly wealthy is that I don't have to and aren't expected to kiss any goddamn rings.
Community Prediction: 25% (12% - 35%)
@Blomfilter He has no charisma. Trump has actual control of the government and plenty of charisma. Elon sucking up is no surprise. 250 USD million won’t buy Trump. I wonder what can Musk do, if anything, to keep Trump’s favor.
@JaimeSantaCruz he’ll not keep his favour forever, but a year from the election I’d say there’s a very good chance he will.
The hand-in-hand coordination to torpedo the initial stop gap bill showed that Trump has supreme control and Elon is doing his “DOGE” bit (the whole thing kind of looked like set-up to me). I reckon we are in for a long year of seeing this kind of coordination between the both of them.
Bloomberg: Trump Says Talk That He’s Ceded Presidency to Musk Is a ‘Hoax’
“No, he’s not taking the presidency,” Trump told a conservative audience in Phoenix, addressing growing complaints about the outsized role the Tesla boss has already had in his incoming administration.
“You know, they’re on a new kick,” he said. “All the different hoaxes. The new one is that President Trump has ceded the presidency to Elon Musk. No, no, that’s not happening.”
“Isn’t it nice to have smart people we can rely on? Don’t we want that?” Trump asked a gathering of the conservative youth group Turning Point USA.
“But no, he’s not going to be president, that I can tell you,” Trump said. “And I’m safe. You know why? He can’t be. He wasn’t born in this country. Ha ha ha."
@CryptoNeoLiberalist what about your dad? I thought he works in the US govt, really curious what he has to say
@Conflux My dad doesn't have the insight or instincts like this, his son. I am much more of the in the know.
@Marnix I hate to glaze Trump so shamelessly but nobody in history faced more negative press than he did. If anything he liked it?
He is a narcissist, sure, but he is the exact opposite of insecure.
@Shai I'm not super sure about that — I remember SNL really getting to him during his first presidency, and him being REALLY mad at Fox for calling Arizona in 2020. Plus, he's also been kind of obsessed with accusations of him doing Putin's bidding for about 7-8 years. I feel like enough coverage of Trump as Elon Sycophant (ESPECIALLY if an ally abandons him and starts saying it) could certainly drive a wedge.
