This market is about the role of wind power in the EU’s energy transition. According to Eurostat, wind power accounted for 19.0% of the EU’s net electricity generation in 2021. Wind power was the second largest source of renewable electricity in the EU, after hydro power (20.3%).
This market will resolve to “Yes” if wind power accounts for more than 25% of the EU’s net electricity generation by 2025. Otherwise, it will resolve to “No.” The outcome will be determined by the data from Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union.
The source is Eurostat’s website, where the data on electricity production from wind power and total electricity production for the EU-27 can be found.
