Resolution Criteria
- YES if the first desktop CPU released with Zen 7 architecture (or whatever AMD calls the successor to Zen 6) is compatible with the AM5 socket.
- NO if the first desktop Zen 7 CPU uses a different socket (e.g., AM6, AMX, etc.).
- N/A if no desktop CPU based on Zen 7 is released by December 31, 2031 (23:59 UTC).
Additional Notes
- “Desktop CPU” means an AMD processor marketed for standard desktop motherboards (not mobile/laptop, embedded, server or HEDT).
- If AMD rebrands Zen 7 under a different name, use the architecture lineage (the immediate successor to Zen 6) when determining resolution.
- Once a Zen 7 desktop CPU is officially launched, resolve immediately as YES or NO based on its socket. If no such CPU appears by the cutoff, resolve N/A on January 1, 2031.
