Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, known as Mo Chara from Kneecap, is facing a terrorism-related charge in the UK. As of June 25, 2025, no trial date has been set. This market resolves to 'Yes' if he is found guilty of the charge before December 31st, 2026; otherwise, it resolves to 'No'. Resolution will be based on official court records or reputable news sources.

  • Update 2025-07-25 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): This market resolves based on the outcome of the single count of a terrorism-related charge against Mo Chara.

    • A second count, which has been dropped since this market was created, was related to a gig in November 2023, and is not relevant to this market anymore.

    • A separate investigation related to a Glastonbury performance in 2025, also undertaken after this market was created, is also not relevant.

The relevant charge is the remaining one, following an alleged charge of terrorism at a gig on the 21 November 2024 at the O2 Forum in Kentish Town.

Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh went to the hearing for this charge on July 18th, and a court date was set for August 20th. As far as I can see, the terrorism charges have not been dropped, and the court date is still set.

Oop, no sorry -- the SECOND (earlier) charge has been dropped, this first count from November 21 remains. The NFA from the Glastonbury gig is also seperate. Will specify the terms in the description a bit better, since I've not updated this since the 2023 offence and the Glastonbury investigation were dropped.

Resolving NO since the offence from the 2023 gig have been dropped:

From the reported Met police statement:

“A range of offences were considered as part of the investigation. However, given the time elapsed between the events in the video and the video being brought to police attention, any potential summary only offences were beyond the statutory time limit for prosecution.

“Relevant indictable offences were considered by the investigation team and, based on all of the current evidence available, a decision has been made that no further action will be taken at this time.”

The Glastonbury set charges have been dropped.

Kneecap are no longer facing any charges as far as I'm aware

@RonB Thanks, looked into this and it looks as if there's still a charge remaining, and he's still on bail until the court date in August 20th. But please post more stuff if you find it and I'll resolve.

Ah I didn't see this one before I created.

It's still possible that it happens in 2026 and not 2025 so I will leave this up.
