Shawn Fein, having secured the best union contract from the Big Three auto makers since the 1980, has set his sights on Tesla.
Shawn Fain said, “One of our biggest goals coming out of this contract victory is to organize like we’ve never organized before.”
“When we return to the bargaining table in 2028, it won’t just be the Big Three, but with the Big Five or Big Six,” he concluded.
“We can beat anybody,” Fain told Bloomberg of taking on Tesla. “I believe it’s doable.”
“The UAW has committed to providing whatever resources are necessary for the campaign,” a person familiar with the efforts at Tesla told Bloomberg. That campaign will be a war, with Musk likely playing a role similar to that of Howard Schultz at Starbucks.
