@StopPunting Iโm guessing that fsctored into the decision not to give it to Lamar twice in a row. Hilarious in hindsight that Dak was more respected than Allen in last years vote too
@Jessef0226 yeah, I'm not saying it's right ideally the MVP shouldnt care about history and stuff (and to be fair, Allen did have a ton of interceptions last year, although they were far down the field so weren't as "bad", plus he had almost similar actual turnover worthy plays this year as last, just got more lucky this year). Allen also this year may have had the best sack avoidance season in NFL history which is also hard to capture in stats.
There's also annoying precedent where they just give it to "QB with the 1 seed" and Allen getting it (even though he didn't have the 1 seed) going 13-3 and beating the Chiefs and getting the 2 ahead of the Ravens kind of fit that.
I think all those things are stupid, I would have gone Allen (or even Dak or Purdy) above Lamar last year, and Lamar (or Burrow) over Allen this year. Yeah it's crazy how far Dak has fallen in a year. Perpetually the most underrated QB imo.
@JTBooth apparently I'm a dummy and Lamar Jackson won the all pro something or other and I'm going to lose now
@MattLashofSullivan I think the era of RB's winning MVP's are over. Not that there ever was a giant one or clear one. But I think commentators, analysts, coaches, etc. all realize now the true value of a QB in a game of the NFL.
More to your main point, I think Manifolders are probably right about Allen having better odds, despite me also agreeing Lamar has a better case.
@No_uh yeah I agree. I'm just saying, as a Ravens fan I won't be mad if they give it to an RB. I agree they probably won't tho. But why would you give the MVP to the second-best quarterback? Makes no sense. Grr.
