“Dec 8 (Reuters) - President-elect Donald Trump said in an interview that aired on Sunday that he would act on his first day in office to pardon rioters involved in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack, further building expectations for a broad granting of clemency.
"I'm going to be acting very quickly, first day," Trump said on NBC News' "Meet the Press with Kristen Welker" when asked when he planned to pardon his supporters who were charged in the attack aimed at overturning his 2020 election defeat.”

Does Day One expire at Midnight on 12/20/2025 or 24 hours after being sworn in? @Quillist
@SaiVazquez is this meant to be heterosexuality? That would still be unlikely but at least somewhat aligns with right wing ideology
@Krantz does this count him claiming it but not actually giving any evidence at all? What about declassifying more blurry UFO footage that's still far from true proof?
@TheAllMemeingEye example: "I said I was gonna be a dictator on day 1, so that's what I'm gonna do, don't know why people are surprised, it's gonna be GREAT, you won't BELIEVE how great it's gonna be, your grandchildren are gonna be asking you how GREAT it was and you're gonna have to tell them it was THE GREATEST, just like me at golf, people tell me that all the time, they should give me a trophy for that, Biden could never..." (continues tangent cascade for 35 minutes without taking a breath)
@ShakedKoplewitz Trump tried to run away from his record on abortion during the latest election, because he realized it was pretty unpopular with the majority of the country. His new position is that it should be left to the states whenever possible.
@thepurplebull I see no reason this would stop him from signing an executive order doing it again. Nothing has to actually meaningfully change in order for this to resolve yes. I expect it to be more virtue signaling, and I wrote it expecting it to resolve YES if he does some virtue signaling gesture.
@thepurplebull Not true, at least some federal agencies currently recognize nonbinary genders; see https://www.state.gov/x-gender-marker-available-on-u-s-passports-starting-april-11/
@Shai i don't know! probably aren't any. If there are, it's probably just male and female already. But, I see zero reason he wouldn't sign some executive order saying it anyway - even more so if it won't actually Do anything. Purely just signalling at that point
