I’ve already waited a year to play TotK, should I wait until the new switch is out to have an even better experience?
Gameplay improvements do count, but they would have to switch successor exclusive.
For graphical improvements I only care about improvements for the video out to an external display. If it is just an increase in quality on the device's built in screen, then I will resolve NO.
Resolves YES if any of these are true:
Noticeably better resolution on external TV (e.g. 1440p vs 1080p)
Noticeably better frame rate (e.g. 60 vs 30 fps)
Noticeably better load times (e.g. 1 sec load vs 5 sec load)
- Noticeably better render distance
- Noticeably better models (i.e. the game assets were built to a higher quality, but the current switch down renders them whereas the switch successor will render them at their original higher polygon count or whatever)
- An entirely new feature is added to the game, but only available to the switch successor (e.g. aiming via eye tracking)
Resolves NO:
Can’t play TotK on switch successor
- no improvements at all, it is the exact same experienceMinor improvements that are hard to notice (e.g. 35 FPS vs 30 FPS)
- Improvements are only on the built-in device screen, not the video out to an external display
