Once again not much information straight from my buddy, so here's some speculation from another friend instead:
According to my other friend, he believes that it is probably my buddy's style to develop a crush after spending a good amount of time in close proximity with other humans of the opposite sex, but perhaps USACO Camp isn't the best place to find someone.

My buddy is very set on not telling me anything in order to keep the integrity of this market (he said if he gave me a definitive answer when he first develops a crush then the market would be a "decreasing function". He also compared this to "live checking vs checking at 1 point"), which means I actually don't know much at all at the moment.
In the meantime tho, I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to say that the campers went on a few "fun excursions", whatever that means.
