Resolution Criteria

This market resolves YES if Games Workshop officially announces and releases a completely new faction for Warhammer 40,000 before January 1, 2027. A "new faction" means a previously unplayable army that receives its own Codex and model line, not just a subfaction of an existing army.

This market resolves NO if no new factions are announced and released by the end of 2026.

Background

• Games Workshop has confirmed the Emperor's Children as a new standalone Chaos Space Marine faction for 2025, with their own Codex and models

• The Emperor's Children do NOT count as a new faction for this market, as they are already announced

• Other confirmed Codex releases for 2025 include updates for existing factions like Astra Militarum, Imperial Knights, World Eaters, Thousand Sons, and Death Guard

• Games Workshop typically announces major releases several months to a year in advance

• The last truly new faction introduced to Warhammer 40k was the Leagues of Votann (Squats) in 2022

Considerations

• Games Workshop occasionally introduces entirely new factions based on existing lore (like the Leagues of Votann) or creates completely new additions to the universe

• Speculative potential new factions from the lore include Men of Iron, Exodites, or other xenos races, but none are currently confirmed
