Background
The Golden State Warriors set an NBA record for regular season wins during the 2015-16 season, finishing with a 73-9 record. This broke the previous record of 72-10 set by the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls. The Cleveland Cavaliers have started the 2023-24 season strong with a 10-0 record.
Resolution Criteria
This market will resolve to YES if the Cleveland Cavaliers win 74 or more regular season games during the 2023-24 NBA season. The market will resolve to NO if they win 73 or fewer games. Only regular season games count - playoff games are not included in the win total.
In case of:
Shortened season: Market resolves NO if fewer than 82 games are played
Forfeited games: Games count based on official NBA record
Vacated wins: Resolution based on final official NBA record after any league decisions/penalties
Considerations
No NBA team has ever won more than 73 regular season games
The Cavaliers would need to maintain a .902 winning percentage over 82 games to achieve this
Teams typically rest star players periodically during the long regular season
Injuries, schedule difficulty, and other factors tend to impact win totals over a full season
