By the end of which year will my HOA first install at least five EV charging stations?

Noah Smith argued recently that EVs are just going to win.

His post specifically included this claim: "If you live in an apartment complex, that complex will eventually have EV chargers in most or all of the spaces in its parking lot, especially as EV adoption increases."

This market measures when that will happen in my own little corner of the world.

Some facts about my HOA (as of question creation in October 2024):

  • Location: A suburb outside of San Diego.

  • Total units: 24 (mostly 2BR units).

  • Current EVs owned by residents: 1

  • Current EV charging stations: 0

  • Average housing price: ~$500k for a 2BR unit between 900 - 1000 square feet.

  • Each unit comes with one assigned parking spot. The HOA also rents a few extra spots out.

Since I'll likely have some influence over whether this happens, I won't trade on this market.

I'm not going to provide my exact address, but I'm happy to answer any other relevant questions in the comments.

Note: If one year resolves YES, all subsequent years will also resolve YES.
